Take The Long Way Home

Dropped off the bike hauler for routine service and rode as much dirt as possible to get home. Obviously quite a bit farther than it would have been on the pavement bike.

Another lovely fall afternoon, this one so warm that a single layer was plenty. All but about 3 miles was dirt; the rest was mostly paved trails with little exposure to vehicles. The mile from 3.7 was for once not a bloodbath -- somebody apparently trimmed that semi-official section in the past few months (omg it was terrible in June) and while leaf-covered, definitely easily rideable.

Legs were good; contact points unbothered; lungs not a factor. Quite an enjoyable ride.

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
