Another rainy day. Another day to train indoors. I did the Watopia Mountain Loop. I hopped on the trainer after getting all my kit and gear ready. I was making my way to the base of the climb. I noticed I forgot to flip a power switch for the soundbar. So, I wasn't getting bass. Then, I noticed my HR wasn't registering. I realized that the trainer was connected via Bluetooth. The HR is an Ant+ device. So, I had to hop off the trainer for a minute and insert the dongle into the PC. I took the opportunity to turn on the switch for the sound system. From there, it was non-stop. But, I gave up over a minute on the climbing section, due to fiddling with the gear. The climb went well. The legs felt lively. I was holding over 3W/kg while out of the saddle. I was in the saddle then the slope let up. I had to wipe off sweat. When I got near the summit, I was about 2 minutes behind my PR. No doubt, due to the gear issues. Nonetheless, I felt good. After reaching the summit, I headed up the bonus climb. I think I was doing 3W/kg most of the time. Out of the saddle, mostly. From the summit, I headed back down. Keeping about 100 Watts. I was keeping track of my speed, doing the minute calculations. It helped keep my mind occupied and focused. I put in a dig through the sprint zone. Strange that I ran out of gears. It didn't feel like I was getting the proper resistance. I made it to the start/finish and cooled down from there. Concentration was good. I wasn't bored. Ailments, some right knee soreness, that subsided. Balance and form felt good. Gear (eventually) worked flawless. Other notes, I think there were over 2000 riders today. I tried a different configuration for the laptop. I ended up keeping the laptop on the table, rotated the TV while adjusting the connected cables. That left the lower stand open, so I was able to put my fan there. It gave direct wind from the front. It worked like a charm.
