6 takers for Crazy Alans ride which had been billed as ‘not much road’ We headed out of Uxbridge through Coppins and Love Green to Langley Park where there was a slight delay whilst a puncture was fixed. Through Trenches Farm over the new railway bridge to Langley, then into Ditton Park and across the Eton College playing fields. Straight over Eton Road to the railway arches, up and over the Thames on the Windsor Relief Road, then following NCN 4 into Windsor Great Park where we stopped for a very welcome cup of tea. We left the Great Park via a footpath opposite Cheapside and ventured into new territory across Ascot Race Course. Then through a rather exclusive mobile home park in Chavey Down to Newell Green where we diced with our first traffic of the day. Skirting the top of Bracknell we took a very nice little track past the Sewage Works where the Blue Bells were just coming into flower. More rough tracks past Jealott’s Hill and Hawthorn Hill followed by a short section of road, and finally lunch at Fernygrove Farm Coffee Shop. Back on the rough stuff, a pretty path alongside Foliejon Park where we saw 2 roe deer. A short section of the Drift Road, then down a large rutted track to Fifield, past the cement works, through Dorney and onto the Flood Relief. A brief moment of Déjà vu at the Myrke then into Upton Park, back through Trenches Farm, and refreshments at Iver Golf Course.
