Specialized Tarmac - The NIGHT RIDER strikes again... a beautiful breezy night ride with winds @ 8 mph. .Alergies has been very bad for me and my left knee still in paain, I just wanted to get an easy short ride in because of road construction I missed a turn and then another which turned a short ride into a much longer ride. It was a route I had wanted to do for a while so mission accomplished! First, 10 miles was slow the next 36 plus miles was anything but slow nor pain free. I made the legs work into the burn zone, my HR started to rise, my breathing started to labor and I wasn't even half way yet. I had to calm down and get the job done... slowly the miles one by one past by with 10 miles to go I was tempted to do a pit stop but decided to push on with 5.5 miles to go I turned into a head wind, a long gradual rise on rough roads, making my legs hurt even more, when road got real bumpy and the thighs burning I caught myself slowing down, after all the work I put into this ride, I couldn't let that happen. I put the legs through even more burn and the heart rate pounding harder and my breathing deeper, I knew I was near the top where the road flatten out and a bend in the road so I would not be into a headwind for the next one mile before I would be back into a headwind but it would be partially blocked all I had to do is keep the pedals turning and the spped up and I would be home free! What a great ride if I may say so myself...
