Argh. Six sweat bands, four gels, two stroopwafels, two towels and two bidons later, I made it to the top of Mont Ventoux. The last stage of L'Etape du Tour, Mike Woods won it in 00:46:03; GPLama did it in 01:22:35; and I did it in 02:22:27. I'm pleased. I had projected 02:30 at an average of 150 W. I came in under the time and right on the average power. Started about number 1350 of 1550 riders and finished 1092/1566. It is a long slog. Definitely Type 2 fun. Did a bottle of vitamin drink and a bottle of water. Could have used just a little more. Had a snack every 20 minutes, using caffeinated Clif gels, Gu gels and Rip Van stroopwafels. Change sweat bands about every 30 minutes. The strategy worked well. The overall ride, including the descent party, came out at 44 km and 02:46. No sense leaving freeXP on the table when you should be spinning out the legs anyway!

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
