This ride starts from the historic Baker Cabin in Carver. The route goes on Springwater Road for 1.2 miles then left onto Baker's Ferry Road. Ride highway 224 past the Eagle Creek junction to the turn-off onto Wildcat Mtn. Road (mile 9.9). Continue onto Eagle Fern Road to Eagle Fern Park for a rest stop. Ride another 3/4 mile or so to Snuffin Road, where a 1.4 mile hill awaits. The "long" part is adding the Currin-Coupland-Divers-Tumalo Mtn Road loop, where there is more climbing. Upon returning to Coupland Road nearly all of the climbing is done. Ride through Estacada and onto Eagle Creek Road. Go left onto Heipel Road, cross 224 and complete the Heipel-Samuels-Dowty Road loop. This part takes you through the Dowty Road Fire burn scar. Return to highway 224 and finish the ride via Baker's Ferry and Springwater Roads.
As has been the case lately, the Garmin showed nearly 750 feet climbing in the first two miles. Ignore that and the 16.6% max grade. The actual max grade is more like 10% on Snuffin Road or the short, steep climb near the end of Dowty Road.
