Only die-hard riders would have ridden today. Started around noon, but it was still only 36 degrees. It didn't get much warmer during the ride. Temperature was in the upper 30s at the end. The Banks to Vernonia trail (BTV) is extremely popular, especially in late spring through early fall. In fact, during the COVID pandemic, purposely avoided this ride, until now. Very few people on the trail today. Needed to ride cautiously due to heavy leaf cover along a majority of the trail, especially on wooden bridge approaches. Many of the wooden bridges have dangerous approaches. Had to hold back a little on the downhills due to a mix of wet and dry leaves. As usual, ignore the Garmin elevation profile. There is NOT 1000 feet of climbing in the first mile.
