Pop goes the weasel (or in this case my chain)

Got out a little bit earlier today so I was expecting to ride a little farther. Was at a point of about 5 1/2 miles out and took the beautiful pictures. Decided to keep on a going, was heading up the road, feeling good and 💥 bam there went my chain. Tried to fix, but wasn’t going to happen. Fortunately most of the ride back home is downhill, but definitely do not feel quite as safe with no chain especially with it getting darker by the time I started heading back. The real funny part of this is that literally as I was about 2 miles into my ride I was thinking that I should carry a spare chain link in case of such an emergency. So having it happen later during that same ride made me laugh. Oh, the Lord has a sense of humor.

    Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices

  • TCX Course

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
