I couldn't sleep last night. I got up early and had breakfast. Took a nap and woke up around 10 AM. I got out the door around 11:15-ish. The legs were a bit sluggish. For some reason my left quad was sore. Almost as if I bruised it. I knew it was going to be an average ride at best. And, I was right. I wore enough clothing to keep me warm for the duration of the ride. I made it to the summit of the descent in average time. I cruised the downhill. Soft pedaling. No real digs on the risers. A bit more on the second than first. I made it to the base. Didn't check the time as I knew I was on a slow pace. I headed back, just as quick. I kept all my clothing on. I unzipped the jacket and jersey. That was enough to keep me from overheating while climbing. I had some things to think about, so that made the miles go quicker. My left quad was sore for most of the climb. But, it wasn't to the point where I had to stop. The miles went quicker as I passed the tough parts. Concentration was good. Ailments, I felt a bit under the weather on the way down to Keene. I think I haven't recovered since the previous two rides. I'll get a chance to recover later in the week, as I have an appointment on Friday, which is my ride day. Gear worked perfect. Balance and form was good. Nutrition was good. I had about 3/4ths of my Gatorade, no water. Other notes, no other people at the loop monument today. I'm trying to think when I'll be able to do the Caliente ride. I have about 10 days opportunity, as I have the surgery on the 26th of this month.
