Great day for a ride. Nice blue skies, winds from the North West. Perfect for SS. The legs felt pretty good to start. I made it to the end of OTR in average time. Sufficiently warmed up. There was some traffic mitigation going up Banducci. Otherwise, it was business as usual. Not exactly red-lining it the entire way up. But close to it. After making it to the summit I took a minutes rest, checked the GoPro battery. It was at 65% at that time. I headed downhill. Practicing my tuck and reaching 42MPH. The trek to SS was into the wind, but it was mostly mild. I made my way around the backside of SS and down into the town. I didn't bother to check my time at the tunnel, but it was likely around 1:02-ish hours. I made my way out and cruised through the farmlands. I made it to Boss Hogs in about 1:25 hours. So, I probably gave up 3 minutes or so, on the return. The last climb went well. I was holding a good tempo and kept the power down over the top. I pulled over at the summit to swap out the GoPro battery, and then headed back on the road. Route 202 was some traffic mitigation. I was in the shoulder half the time and had to sprint to the left turn lane. From there it was mostly fun and games. Concentration was good. I had a few things to think about, the morale was good. My music helped a bunch. Balance and form was good. Ailments, some left hand numbness. Gear worked perfect. I had to swap the Di2 battery at the start, apparently it was depleted from my previous ride. Nutrition was spot on. I had most of my Gatorade and some water. Other notes, I saw about 5 cyclists today, all of which seemed to be having a good time.
