I got up after my morning nap. I just didn't feel like going anywhere on the road bike. So, I decided it was a perfect opportunity for a mountain bike ride. I decided to go to the canyon and explore a bit. The handling skills were a bit rusty. I caught on quick though. The first part of the canyon was mostly flat and gradual downhill. Then I got over to the train track side. I had to cross a small creek to get there. There was a trail heading west but it was on the other side of the embankment. I decided to go there next time and head east along the track. I made my way to the back entrance of Meadowbrook park. I explored a bit. There was a dirt path that seem to go in the direction of Walgreens. I'm assuming that's how you get to the dirt path that's visible from the Walmart bike path. I decided to go to the end of the paved bike path that ends on Valley Blvd. I headed back from there. I made my way down Westwood Blvd and back on the dirt path that goes along WTR. I entered the dirt path that is on the corner of Country Club and WTR. It goes on for a few blocks. It's mostly rolling terrain. I exited on a side street and then headed back down Country Club to WTR. I made one lap around the lake and then back home. Concentration was good. A bit lethargic to start. Balance and form got better as the ride progressed. I adjusted to the position on the mountain bike fairly quick. The knees didn't complain. Ailments, some hand soreness. Gear worked flawless. Nutrition was good. I had about half my Gatorade, no water. I was having to clean the bottle before drinking, so I couldn't drink as often as I would have liked. Other notes, I saw just one mountain biker up the path as I was making my way to Meadowbrook park. I lost sight of him, though.
