Today was the first ride after the GranFondo Century. My leg cramps are fully healed. I rode without any pains today. The weather was great. A bit on the warm side, winds from the north west. Very comfortable and enjoyable. I wore the standard kit. I felt good out the door. It was apparent that I wasn't going to have any cramping issues. After riding a few miles, it felt like I should raise the saddle by a fraction. I'll probably try that on the next ride. I went through OTR pretty fast. I think I made it to Route 202 in just over 20 minutes. A good time. Better than Average. I continued to do good tempo up Banducci. Including a push over the summit. The false flat is were I recovered. I did high tempo going up the remainder of the climb. Just before the summit, I stopped near the Alpine Forest entrance. I wanted to see if I could scrape the blue marker off the pavement from the Granfondo event. I could only scrape a tiny piece. I had to try... I had fun on the descent. I had a headwind going out. Pelliser had a tail-cross. Turned head as I was at the last few hundred yards. That sapped my speed. The return trip from there was comfortable. The last climb was more or less high tempo. I pushed it over the top. I recovered on the false flat and had mostly fun and games on the remainder of the ride. Overall, I'd say I felt better than average. Likely due to the carry over from the century. Concentration was spot on. I was thinking about the Granfondo and what I wanted to do in the last few months of 2015. I haven't made up my mind yet. Otherwise, I had a good time out there. Balance and form felt good. Although, like I mentioned, I think I need to raise the saddle just a fraction. Ailments were none, other than some very minor soreness in the right knee. Gear worked flawless. Other notes. I past one casual cyclist. Otherwise, no one to be found.
