Didn't get started as early as I would have liked but it turned out to be a rather nice day. Very low winds and only a little bit hot in the middle of the day. Some hazy clouds moved in mid-afternoon and cooled things off a bit.
I rode through Tifton without issue and arrived at my first stop at Eldorado Baptist Church where my Great Great Grandparents are buried. They have a very nice view of the Magnolia Plantation store and gas station on I-75 directly behind the cemetery. So since it was so close I decided to walk on over. There was a fence but at the gate was enough wiggle room to squeeze through. I got a cherry coke and a large candied pecan log.
I got going, crossed the interstate and headed north and arrived at my next stop at the Pineview Holiness Baptist Church. Found my 3x Great grandfather, got some water at the faucet there at the church and headed back north to Tifton and Oak Ridge Cemetery. I've visited this cemetery more than any other probably. Despite this I still had to wander around a bit to find my Grandparents. The city had just cut the grass around all the graves and so there were grass clippings all over them. I brushed them off and tidied the area up. Had to pick up a surprising number of fake flower petals that the mower threw up. As I was taking pictures of course the city worker emerged from a nearby building with a leaf blower. This spot is not exactly the most serene resting place as it is right next to I-75. I wanted to take a little break here but I had no desire to listen to or smell the leaf blower so I got going.
On the return trip in I ended up getting water at 2 more churches. I definitely didn't eat enough salty things but I managed ok.
