Rode 5 of the last 7 day. I can’t remember the last time I did that. Definitely thanks to my birthday and all the various National and World Days that happened consecutively.
Legs also felt better - more appropriately fatigued for the amount of riding but still not 100%. Didn’t help that I was tired from not sleeping well.
And then there’s the whole birthday ride that was supposed to happen today that didn’t. Definitely not the week I pictured having a couple months ago.
Originally planned on doing my dream loop of Fifield-Cahill/Purisima Creek but people either couldn't make it, understandable but still sad since I called the a while ago, or didn't even respond - pretty disappointing. I was about to just do it by myself but Jill was able to join saving the day. She couldn't do the full ride though thus the change of plans.
It was probably for the best shortening the ride given my ribs, uncertainty about how my legs would hold up, and general lack of sleep. The great thing was we had the watershed all to ourselves today and it was mostly sunny.
The temperature was perfect? Definitely weird. Warm in the sun but tempered by cold winds so it was basically the right temperature.
Forgot to get a shot of my birthday Strawberry Croissant from Pacific Java Cafe. The only food I had on the ride. Once again, the Skratch Labs Superfuel Drink Mix did a pretty good job.

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
