Today was the last day to ride with Peggy. We decided to head out to Keene. I had breakfast around 7:30-ish in the morning. No napping today. We got out around 8 or 9 AM. The temperature was already in the 80's when we got out. I made it to the summit of the descent in good average time. I wasn't even trying. We cruised the downhill. Soft-pedaling most of the way. We regrouped at the Loop Monument. We took some photos of the new monument lookout point. After that, we made our way to the base of the loop. Peggy turned around and I headed to the base. We departed at about 24 minutes into the ride. I kept that time in memory as I was riding to the base. I don't remember the time when I reached the base. I turned around, no stopping. The climb went fast. I was keeping "24 minutes" in my mind. When I reached the base of the loop, I checked the time. It was about 20-ish minutes later. So, Peggy had a 20 minute advantage. I kept my tempo steady. No drilling it in the red-zone. The challenging sections went fast. The morale felt good. I made it to the summit, didn't bother to check the time. It didn't matter to me. Concentration was good. The morale felt good. Balance and form was good. Gear worked perfect. Ailments, hand numbness. The right hand was feeling sore in the carpals. It feels ok now, I guess it was temporary. Nutrtition was good. No hunger signs. I went through most of my Gatorade and some water. Other notes, I saw three cyclists today. The Loop Monument is making progress. I've yet to determine where they are going to allow cars to park.
