I took me a little longer to get this ride on the road, I had to take, my cameras, computer, rear radar and install batteries for the lights onto the bike and had to lower the saddle too. During the last ride I realize the new cleats on my left shoe is a tad off alignment and this could be the reason for my left knee pain. I will correct that before my next ride. I was hoping the this ride would be as revolutionary as the the last one was. I went out to do Rte 70 the other direction heading Southwest. The wind was much stronger on this ride, a little warmer and same humidity. Well the bike fit was great but the feel was night and day different. I felt I needed to put more effort out for the same effect and the Tarmac does respond as nicely as the the Foil!, My butt didn't hurt at all on this ride, left knee was less painful however, my lower back was not as comfortable and my hands were going numb, so I need to work on the fit and see what's different between the two bikes. The ride was well, I saw a rider going the other way and thought I should be able to catch him on my return trip... I get to the Presidential Lakes traffic light and just as I was laying down some power I heard a pop a slight resistance on the pedal then nothing... I thought the chain dropped off the so I started to soft pedal thinking maybe the chain would reengaged. I felt nothing so I look down and didn't a chain! I immediately pulled off the road and looked back there was my chain just past the light so I got off the bike and walked it back. I propped the bike up against the light pole, looked at the chain and decided what I needed to do. Pulled out my multi-tool with chain-breaker and the spare removable link. It took me about 15 minutes to make the repair, clean up and get back on the road. I knew at this point I would never catch the other rider so at the circle I took a different route home, I continued to work the bike and myself and feeling much stronger than I thought I would. This ride was shorter than the first one but longer than I was starting out to do. I was hesitant to go longer for fear if the chain popped again I would be out of luck! Another excellent test ride and this ride was faster than the first... maybe because I started slower on the first test ride and had to replace the left pedal power battery which may have lowered the power if it read it as zero power for the first 3..5 tenths of a mile otherwise the power was about the same.
