The day started out perfectly. low wind, cool and shiny but as the day progressed the wind picked up, got hot and humid for me was a recipe for disaster! I did the 25 miles with my two brothers Roy and Bobbie, we had a few missed turns but for the most part we stayed on route. We had a very good time on the ride but once we turned off the 50 mile route to stay on the 25 mile, it was very lonely as we didn't see another rider in front or behind us the rest of the ride! After the ride we chatted waiting for Bike Beast to get back. We finally went to get something to eat and as I was just getting ready to eat I got the news that he was in an accident and was taken Cooper Hospital. From what I heard he is home and doing well as can be. Without refueling I took off to do the last 50 miles with the 3 riders he was with, things was going great until wasn't... it was like a switch in me was being shut off one by one, all of a sudden I was out of gas! I did everything I could to keep up much less keep going. the guys did their best to keep me hanging in, but I had nothing left, cramping everywhere and in pain everywhere, this may have been the worse I have ever felt during a ride and I had many painful rides but this year seems to be right up there, the common theme pushing these bad rides is "hot and high humidity" weather. Phil T. stuck it out with me even though I told him several times to go a head, he refused to leave me out there alone, what gracious rider and person! The ride finally came to the end I was never so happy, but it was just the beginning of the cramps, every movement caused a new cramp, changing out of the bike kit into clean dry clothes was major and almost impossible! luckily I had plenty of time as I was waiting for Bike Beast's wife and brother to pick up his bike that my brother picked up from the neighbor near the crash site back to me and his car. By the time they got to me I was able to move without excruciating cramping and pain. To the next adventure
