Regular riding companions not in great shape for various reasons (clots, more trailwork than trail riding, etc) so if we're actually gonna do the MoCo Epic in two (2!) weeks, they gonna need some seat time. We've signed up for the 55 miler with the intent of OGing it and shortening that to something under 40. Lovely Fall day, with temps in the 70s, no wind to speak of and plenty of sunshine. Kept a fairly sedate pace; passed on a bailout option about Mile 12, which would have shortened the ride to about 16 or 17, and managed to complete the whole thing. OGs reported some tired legs at the end. Ride took a lot longer than anticipated -- sooooo much stopped time -- but didn't mind at all (see previous comments about weather).
