Temperature is about 50 -- BALMY! -- so even if it IS Turkey Day, let's go ride some bikes, just like the DC turkey bowl tradition or any number of turkey trots ... Decided to check out a series of new machine-made trails in the upper Paint Branch area. Turned out to be a series of discontinuous well-made trails that are all out-and-back. No options for loopage ... yet. What's missing is a dirt connection between mile 5.8 and Mile 7.5. The road portion wasn't awful (Briggs Chaney has wide wide paved shoulders) but c'mon... Suspect the problem is the two large branches that combine into the creek about halfway through that disconnect. County happy to build trails; bridges, however, are a whole other thing. Wouldn't call it warm, but we were comfortable in shorts and multiple upper layers ... All things considered, a good ride; decent distance; definitely tired afterward. W/Dan
