What a difference from the sunny and hot conditions of last week. It was cold at the start, windy and overcast. Coyote Hills was already brown when it was still green last week.
Coyote Hills may have been brown but the mustard flowers were really blooming and we found one section that turned into an impromptu photo shoot. On the way out the levee, we had to pick up the pace just to get warm.
On the way over, on Dumbarton, I was telling Patricia about the town line sprints we use to do so naturally we had to one. Irene and Anthony, behind us, were probably wondering what the hell was happening.
Margaret and I originally talked about riding today and then she got Irene onboard. Then right before the ride Margaret had to bail and I wasn't sure if Irene was still going to make it. Luckily she was still in and Patricia and Anthony showed up too. Only problem was everyone was late so we got back to OTH after dark this time.
When we got to OTH, all the trucks were different. I double-checked to make sure it was happening but I didn't check which trucks were going to be there. In fact, I assumed they'd be the same. Chick N' Bros, which I had been craving and talking up to everyone, thankfully, was the last truck in the line and the only one to return from the week before.
I also grabbed a "Classic Milk Tea" from Kiss My Boba which turned out to not be a classic milk tea at all. I had to mix it myself and it didn't seem to want to mix at all. Worse, it took them longer to make it than my chicken sandwich. Many demerits to Kiss My Boba!
I'm so glad I brought all the layers because I would've been frozen at dinner without them. As it was, by the end of the meal I was shivering and had to do some extra riding before returning to the car so I'd be warm enough to pack the bike.
