Before this ride I had several hurdles to get over which held me up. One of the hurdle was I had to get out the other bike due to a rear wheel flat, it would have taken me longer to fix it so I thought. By the time I was out the door the sun went down. Off I go for a nice ride all things were going get and the temp was a little chilly but much better than it was earlier in the day. I get to the 1/2 way point and had to make a descision which way I want to go to get home. So I decided to tkae the way I haven't ridden in a while. I get a 1 mile down the the road and I see lightning which looked like fire works. The wind had picked up big time. I debated about turning around and going the other way but desided to go the way I was headed. The storm was getting closer to me and seemed to loop around me and the rain was coming down heavy. I got abou7t anothe 3-4 miles the lightning was almost on me,and looked bad, so I found a build that I could hide in. I made a call for my sister to come get me. she was out at dinner with her daughters and my Mother. I told to wait 5 minutes before packing it up. It was a fast moving storm, so I hoped the lightning storm would go by me. It did so I thought, I called her and told I would continue my ride taking a short cut making the ride 7 miles to get home. It looked good other than it was still raining but not as hard. I get 3 miles and the lightning looked it was coming up on me from the other side, I kept going fighting against the wind, with 2 miles to go the lightning was still on my side, rain was semi light and the wind was at my back!. I get home drenched but safe... It was a nice ride but would have been great without all the excitement!!! I did notice my power meter around the middle of the ride was only reading 75 watts when it should have been reading much higher. So I figure only one pedal was working.
