Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.

Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

Today was a recovery ride. The weather is great. Winds from the North West. I wore the standard kit with my arm coolers. The arm coolers are working great! Definitely blocks the sun from cooking my arms! I chose to go to the Walmart Bike Path and back. The legs were a bit heavy to start. I kept reminding myself that they would feel better by the time I reached the summit of OTR. Sure enough, it did. I took it easy going up Highline. Mostly working on breathing and form. After making it to the Walmart bike path, I could worry less from traffic and just relax. More of the same on the way back. The tough part was making my way back on Highline. The wind picked up. So, it was like adding an extra percent or two on the ascent. While on my way up the climb, I tried to switch modes on the GPS to read instant power instead of 3 second avg. For some reason, the GPS froze. I tried to revive it, but no luck. It ended up powering off. I powered it back on and it asked so Save or Discard the ride. I chose to Save it, of course. Unfortunately, when I got back, the data was lost. So, I used my Wahoo metrics recorded on my smartphone. It recorded the usual metrics minus HR and power. The remainder of the ride was fun and games. I plan on going to Caliente if the weather report remains below 90. I figured that the weather will be cooler when I climb the mountain and reach the other side. Concentration today was good. I had a few things to think about. The lack of stress from a recovery ride helped too. Balance and form was good. Ailments next to none. Slight soreness in the lower right back that didn't escalate or hinder my progress. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs, I had about half my Gatorade, no water. Gear worked, but the GPS gave out. I think it has to do with the GPS having over 100 metric files saved. Will have to delete them all. Other notes, no other cyclists today, other than two guys on eBikes.
