It's cold and windy, but I didn't want to ride indoors. Perfect for a Keene n Back ride. Winds were from the North West, so favorable. I wore the full winter kit with leg warmers. It was a bit chilly on the way out, but I was within my comfort zone. I cruised the way out. Soft pedaling most of the time. I put in two digs over the risers. I made it to the base of the climb in about 30 minutes and change. I headed back without stopping or removing layers. I ended up removing my face mask and put it in my jacket pocket while riding. The miles went fast. I had stuff to think about and the morale was good. My right knee was hinting on soreness about half way up the climb. So, I was having to adjust my tempo accordingly. I was in and out of the saddle to mitigate it. It never escalated to the point of stopping. Other than that, the climb went as planned. I kept my tempo going over the top after-which, I recovered and made my way back home. Concentration was good. Few lapses. Balance and form was good. Ailments, the right upper knee was hinting on soreness. It never escalated. Some hand soreness while out of the saddle. Gear worked perfect. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I had less than half my Gatorade, no water. Other notes, no other cyclists or tourists at the Loop Monument.
