Went on a solo ride today. Weather was more bearable than the last ride. I had good legs today, it was apparent in the first few miles. I did modest tempo all the way to the top of Banducci. The only thing that held me back was my right knee. It was sore all the way to the top of Banducci. There were two places where construction continued. In Stallion Springs and Route 202 (on the return trip). First stop, I had to wait about 2 or 3 minutes. Once I made it to the top of SS, I started to lift the tempo. Then, after making the left turn into the farm-lands, I laid the hammer down! I kept the pace all the way back. I was holding back on the way out, mostly because of the headwind, so I figured I'd wait till the return trip. The return trip was a real treat. No serious ailments, the soreness in the knee went away, and I was able to concentrate on high tempo. The one thing that was bad about today, was the return trip up Cummings Valley Road. Because of the construction on route 202, all East Bound traffic was diverted to this street. So, I had cars wizzing by, some of which were only a few feet. Nevertheless, I made it home safe, and in good time. Other stuff, the Gopro worked perfect today, as did my GPS. I'll be going to Bakersfield and hope that my Gopro captures every step of the way.
