It’s hot out. I decided to head out to Keene. I got out a bit earlier than usual as I have other things to do. The legs felt pretty good to start. I didn't bother checking the time when I reached the summit of the descent. Likely in good average time. I adjust the saddle just before heading down the mountain. I took it easy, putting in two digs over risers. There was a bit of road construction going on near the base of the mountain. It delayed me by a minute or so. After reaching the base, I headed back, no stopping. There was a pesky chihuahua when I was just starting to climb. I go it on video. I had to stop for another minute for the same road construction. After that, it was non-stop to the summit. The heat was radiating off the tarmac, so it felt like riding in a sauna. I was trying to distract myself. After reaching the Loop Monument, I was able to sit up for a few moments in the dip. I kept the tempo steady. Being careful not to push it too much as the heat would have been my demise. The body responded well with minimal ailments. After reaching the summit, I was able to recoup and get back home. Concentration was good. Few lapses, the morale was good. Gear worked perfect. Nutrition was good. I was hinting on hunger signs when I got back. Balance and form was good. The saddle adjustment helped. Ailments, minimal. Some hints of knee soreness. Hand numbness here and there. Other notes, no other cyclists. There were some friendly motorcyclists. No one at the Loop Monument until I was on my way back.
