Your wheels will sing under the big sky as miles of remote open road beckon and your cares melt away on the Grande Tour Scenic Bikeway. Starting at Riverside Park north of La Grande and passing through the communities of Island City, Union, North Powder, Baker City and Cove, this bikeway offers quiet country roads with stunning views of the Blue and Wallowa Mountains. The 108-mile Blue Mountain Century Scenic Bikeway is a breathtakingly beautiful loop that starts and ends in Heppner, a full-service community with secure places to leave your vehicle while you ride. The route travels through the Blue Mountains to Ukiah before looping back to Heppner, and is best ridden in two days. (less)

This is my off-road version of "De Ronde PDX." It's 3 of the steepest climbs in Forest Park (with a fourth thrown in for extra credit) all rolled into one.

This rugged and spectacular traversal of Mt. Hood's southeast quadrant offers a rewarding cross-section of challenging terrain from the shady loam of Barlow Road to the high alpine ridges of Bennett Pass. Merging the disciplines of road, gravel and mountain riding, this route includes rocky fire roads, primitive jeep trails, river crossings, hardpacked gravel, butter-smooth tarmac and everything in between. The Three Sisters Three Rivers route connects the three famous Oregon river MTB trail systems—McKenzie, Oakridge, & Umpqua—to the other side of the Cascade Range. It travels from the dry desert forest trails of Bend and Sisters to the hot springs and alpine ridges of the Upper Willamette to the lush, western flanks of the Calapooya Range and blue pools and hot springs of the North Umpqua.

A fun route that leaves from the heart of Knoxville's Urban Wilderness. This loop has numerous short climbs and rollers, and takes you on Happy Creek Road...a tight and twisting road that could be described as singletrack, but for road bikes. (less)

Pronounced [OR-cuss], this is the crown jewel of the San Juan Islands.

Soaking tubs and a sauna with a view wait for you at the other end of this scenic and hilly island. Reserve a campsite or yurt at Doe Bay or camp back at Moran State Park.

Be intrepid and tackle the optional 1800' climb of Mt Constitution! Breathtaking panoramas are well worth the effort. Highest point in the San Juan Islands, go get it! (less)

The Gorge Backcountry route is a 330 mile loop leaving Portland which encompasses lesser known vistas and lightly trafficked asphalt and dirt ribbons through lush forests, river canyons, and rocky escarpments both north and south of the mighty Columbia River. It is roughly 75% paved, (route is colored brown where unpaved) with services and campgrounds abound making it a perfect low-barrier route for someone looking to dip their toes in off-road touring. Winding verdant forest tunnels, infinitely straight prairie lanes, and chunder gates with dominating views of Mount Hood create one of the best collections of what northwest Oregon and southwest Washington have to offer an adventurous cyclist. McKenzie Pass is without a doubt the most spectacular ride in Central Oregon, showcasing forests on both the east and west sides of the Cascades (they’re different) as well as a lava-rock moonscape at the top that’s unlike anything you’ll probably ever see on a bike ride again. (less)

Champoeg Metric Century - The flattest 60 miles you can find in Portland. This ride starts at the Champoeg State Park (Paid Parking), travels through gentle farmlands before catching up with the Willamette River. The halfway point is Salem, the state capitol, where you can find many cafes and diners to grab a quick bite to eat. Before starting the trek back on the Willamette Valley Bikeway. Gentle rollers throughout the ride, great training ride for a new cyclist looking to do the distance, without the hills. (less)

Looking for a quick escape from the office or a memorable weekend jaunt? This loop takes you on one of Portland's most iconic climbs and delivers low-traffic roads, windy flats, and breathtaking views. (less)

As the name implies, this easy, relatively flat ride loops through the scenic farmland, hop fields, vineyards, and historic small towns of south Polk County. Wineries, breweries, and wildlife areas along the way make it easy to turn this into an all-day ride. (less)

A classic Larch Mtn route with two fun explorations thrown in for good measure. A few miles of backroads on your way down the mountain and a splendid side trip on new paths and a piece of the 40-Mile Loop that lets you avoid the mess around I-84. (less)
