Trail network north of ABQ, just outside Bernalillo, and about 1,000 feet lower than the stuff east of the big city, so yeah, let’s check this out. Of course the altitude-acclimation is getting better just as the departure day nears … felt really good the whole time. Heart rate normal, regular stops for breathing. Legs felt good. The trails in the “lower” section much less rocky than the areas farther up; a fair bit of hike-a-bike on some tougher areas, especially when you come on a section for the first time and don’t know what line to take. Got lost a bit wandering around and started to run out of good light. The sun got low enough to make the west-facing legs difficult to see, so ended up with fewer miles than preferred, but still, great ride.
