Waited till after 1pm to go for a ride. The weather was in the 60's as was predicted. The weather was perfect today, it was a once in a year condition. There was a slight tailwind on the way out. But the wind was really calm. By the time I reached the top of the descent, the wind had really slowed down. So, I did good time to the top of the descent, somewhere around 7 minutes or so. The downhill was nice, cool, but not uncomfortable. And I did good time. Now, the uphill was nothing like what I was expecting. The wind either died down, or did an about face, and started to go the opposite way. This proved to be perfect weather conditions for this ride. Concentration... that was the big missing part in my ride. I was going in and out of focus, I couldn't quite get my mind to settle down and just listen to what I was putting down on the pavement. So, anyways, Balance was as good as it gets. Bike is working well. The lube in the cable housing seemed to help. Will have to see what it does on the next ride. GPS, Gopro, Taillight all working perfectly. I had no ailments, really. No serious discomfort in my calves or palms. Really, really good response from my body today. I did real strong tempo, but just below my maximum. And a few reprieves after which I lifted the tempo. Had my mind been 100% with me, I wonder what kind of time I would have put down. It could go both ways.
