Fourteen loiterers for the short ride including Birgit and Gary riding with us for the first time. We rode out through West Drayton, Sipson, and Harmondsworth to Longford and 11’s at The White Horse, a grade II listed 14th century building.
After refreshments we continued through Stanwell Moor, Stanwell Village, across Shortwood Common to Staines and lunch at The Old Red Lion, another historic building from the 15th century.
After lunch we headed past the station to the River Thames where we said goodbye to Francis and continued along the towpath to Church Road and on to Moor Lane. The aforementioned lane continues on a track alongside Wraysbury River and the M25 and ends at Stanwell Moor where another track continued across the motorway to Poyle. We continued on through Colnbrook to tea at Thorney Park Golf Club.
We left the golf club riding to Yiewsley were most of the group joint the canal towpath leaving Liliane and me to head for Hillingdon Village and home.
