It warmed up a bit. The wind is from the South East. A good day to go to WS. I haven't been there in a while. I was delayed because I had to fix a flat before departing.
The legs felt good to start. I had to pull over once to adjust something. I strained my back a bit, so I had a sore back muscle for the first 10 minutes. After that, it went away. I made it to the end of OTR in good time. I was monitoring my watches performance. A bit sketchy this time. There was a headwind on the way out to WS, so I had to put into grind mode and be patient. After making it up the climb, it went pretty fast. I was keeping an eye on the pavement for thorns. After making it to the end of Highline, I headed back, no hesitating. The return trip was fun. I had a nice tailwind on my back. I zipped my way to the last climb. I was thinking to myself how to explain what it feels like. I was right, it feels like I dropped 10 or 15 pounds as I was climbing with the generous tailwind. The descent was fun. I was a bit cautious. After making it back to OTR, I was able to relax a bit. I put it into cruise mode for the remainder. I shut it down after reaching the top of Weston. My right knee was complaining, and I had slight calf muscle soreness. Concentration was good. I had stuff to occupy my attention. Gear worked well. Still trying to assess the reliability of my new smart watches. Nutrition was good. MInimal hunger signs. I drank my Gatorade bottle, no water. Balance and form was good. Ailments... A sore right back muscle for the first 10 minutes, right calf muscle soreness and knee soreness in the last half mile or so. Other notes, I saw just one cyclist on an eBike as I was returning from WS.
