As was predicted, it's raining today. Time for an indoor ride. I chose Innsbruck so that I could make two laps of the Lutscher climb. The plan was to do a negative split. The gear setup worked good today. No delays. I was sufficiently warmed up by the time I reached the base of the climb for the first time. The Halo Replay worked on the climb. The last time I did the ride I posted a 29 minute and change lap time. I had no intention of keeping up with that performance. I tried to keep the wattage below 3.0 W/kg. The time went fairly quick. I tried not to stay glued to the milage and time metrics. Just kept listening to the music and surrounding. Definitely helped. I was about a minute behind my Halo when I reached the summit. I recovered on the descent and mentally prepared myself for the next lap on the climb. I was able to hold a faster tempo in the first half. Almost immediately after the clock started. I was around 3 W/kg most of the time. I was in and out of the saddle. About 10 minutes from the summit, the right upper knee was bothering me, so I had to mitigate. I was in the saddle spinning till the soreness subsided. So, alternating between in and out of the saddle technique maintained the problem. I was doing good time. By the time I reached the summit, I was about one minute up on my Halo partner. I made 13th over the summit. After that, it was mostly cooldown. I hopped off at around 112BPM and 19.5 mi completed. Concentration was good. A bit impatient here and there. Balance and form was good. Gear worked flawless. Ailments, the right upper knee was sore towards the last 10 minutes of the second climb. My hands were getting sore and numb while out of the saddle for extended periods. Sitting down and shaking them did the trick. Nutrition was good. I had most of my Gatorade with a bit of water. Other notes, there were about 400 to 500 riders on this map today.
