Overdressed today. I was expecting it to be cold like yesterday because of the wind chill (and the forecast) but it was warm. I even took layers off and I was still too warm.
I heard that Lake Rd. Trail had reopened and I wanted to see what the other trails were like. But once again I faffed around for so long that I ran out of time to do the full ride I wanted to do.
On the very first trail, I was thinking, "It feels really overgrown." and then BAM! some of that overgrowth was a downed tree or hedge and I slammed my left hand into a branch. I always felt the bars on the Stumpy were too wide anyway. Further proof.
I took a chunk of skin out of my pinky and a little on the knuckle. Good thing I wore my full fingered MTB gloves. I ALMOST didn't wear them because of how warm it was and to shed another layer. But the whole reason for wearing the gloves was from past MTB rides when I didn't and I regretted it because gloves would've save me. This was pretty superficial with very little blood. The gloves for sure saved me from losing more.
That first trail was still pretty soggy and muddy in sections. Most of the trails I could ride were pretty dry though... not that there were many to ride.
The lake of Waterdog Lake seems to have dropped back down to a normal level. I stopped to take a photo and this woman asked me, "You aren't going to ride down (into the lake), are you?". In my head, "What are you talking about?" My response, "No, I'm just taking a photo." and I showed her my camera.
There's no reason to ride down there and I don't know why anyone would. I don't understand people.

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.

Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
