Today's weather warmed up. In the upper 70's. Winds from the North West. Somewhat turbulent. I got out today to investigate the mountain bike park near the 58 Freeway and sand factory. Firstly, how to get there. From Highline, make a left onto Denisson, go north, across the 58 via a bridge, and just to the left will be a parking lot. The mountain bike trails are accessible from there. By car, it's easiest to go east on Teh. Blvd and hang a left on Denisson. As for the ride itself... I wore the standard kit with arm coolers. I felt pretty good in the legs. I wasn't paying much attention to my tempo, but I was well within my limits. I was sufficiently warmed up by the time I reached route 202. I climbed Highline with modest tempo. I was doing less than 10MPH on the steeper sections. The remainder of the trip to Denisson was relaxing, just working on my form. I felt kind of off today, especially in the right leg. The trek up Denisson was a recon ride, so I wasn't paying much attention to the ride itself. I felt within myself, nonetheless. After going up and down the streets, I found the mountain bike park, took some photos and then headed back. I put more cookies into the return trip. The wind was mild today, so the trip back was more comforting. I had a good time on OTR and did a nice push over Mariposa. Concentration was good. Minimal gremlins. Ailments consisted of right hand numbness. Balance and form didn't feel to good on the outbound on Highline. But felt much better on the return. Gear is working well, although my parents said they couldn't track my progress. Other notes, there were about 10 to 15 people grouped at the mountain bike park. There were some gliders out near the end of Highline. I saw 1 cyclist and a couple casuals.
