The weather has let up. It's in the mid / upper 40's. Winds from the South East. Not favorable for a Keene ride, but I decided to go anyways. I wore the standard winter kit. I was sufficiently comfortable. I don't recall the time to the top of the descent, but likely good average time. The downhill was a treat, a bit giddy in some places. I put in two digs over the risers. I reached the base in about 24 minutes. I spared no time and headed back up the mountain. As is always the case, with a headwind, it's a game of patience. I kept that in mind for the entire climb. I was counting off the landmarks, but not trying to be too vein about it. After reaching the second dip, I was feeling better in the morale. I was using my lowest gears. It was a steady effort to the summit. Concentration was good. I had a few things to think about. Gear worked flawless, however the mp3 speaker lost its charge just after the ride started, so I used the speaker on my smartphone to play music. It worked, but wasn't great. Balance and form was good. The new saddle position feels better. Ailments, next to none. Perhaps some minor knee sorness that never escalated. Nutrition was good. No signs of hunger, I went through most my Gatorade, perhaps a sip or two of water. Other notes, no cyclists today. I pulled over once to take photos of the local rescue farm on the Keene climb.
