The weather is great. Winds from the North West. I needed to put in a ride to train for a Caliente ride in a couple weeks or so. The body felt pretty good. Before I departed, I spilled some Gatorade on the ground because a Fidlock bottle broke when it hit the ground. Suffice it to say, it delayed my departure by 10 minutes or so. I was able to forget about it after a while. I made it to the top of OTR in good average time. The Banudcci Wall had some traffic mitigation, otherwise, I was in my limits over the top. The Alpine Forest was better for the concentration. The minutes went fast. When I was making my way around the backside, I realized that the GoPro camera wasn't recording. I forgot to install the special battery door that would allow for my battery bank to charge it. So, the battery jarred loose from its position. I decided to continue to the summit. When I got there, I pulled over to relax and fix the problem. I used some electric tape. It did the trick. Although, I haven't checked the footage yet. I made it to the summit of Banducci in about 52-ish minutes. The trek to SS was into a headwind, so I was doing steady tempo. No heroics. I made my way around the backside and then into SS. I stopped for a bio break at the local park and then got back on the road. I think I made it to the tunnel in about 1:22 hours. The farmlands was the usual steady tempo. I had a tailwind at this point. So, I was able to sit up and recover. I don't recall the exact time at Boss Hogs, but it was around 1:44-ish hours. The last climb felt good. I was able to hold nothing less than moderate tempo. I kept the momentum going over the top. I used the false flat as a recover zone, getting out of the saddle when the road kicked up to Route 202. Route 202 had some traffic mitigation, but I made it out of there safely. The OTR descent was enjoyable and well taken. Mariposa was the usual grind. From there, I made my way to Weston where I shut it down. Concentration was good. There were hints of gremlins. I held it together. Balance and form was good. Nutrition was interesting. I didn't have to feed this time. I drank about one and a half bottles of Gatorade. I think that was the first time in a while. I feel good now and I just started to have lunch Ailments were minimal. Some hand soreness. Gear worked flawless. Other notes, I saw just one cyclist today.
