Jennifer and I went to Westport as the Ranelagh choir were singing the day before , so today we decided to do a cycle . It was a lovely hot day so we decided not to wear our inners but we were really sorry as there was quite a citting breeze even though it was still very hot . We had a lovely meal and a drink in Newport . There is an old bridge there which was for the original railway but is used no longer , but can be walked on . Its lovely . The whole cycle lane has changed even though you are stll brought from Westport to New port or wherever. We went up to this church which really looked lovely , maybe red sandstone , but inside it had some Harry Clarke windows . It was a long journey back , but on our way back we called into the hotel we were in a few years ago , Hotel Westport . i could remember that we were in the ground floor , so we then went in to discover that it was being used for refugees from Ukraine . This detour added about 5 KM to our journey It was a great journey with jennifer but we were both exausted and we did not really want anything to eat but I survived on some biscuits and i then forced myself to have an Irish Coffee , actually 2 of them . A really great cycle and enjoyable .
