Good morning Chelsea. We stopped here for breakfast. Nosh has been our favorite breakfast food truck. No meat today, so plain Waffles for both of us today. Fueling up for another big day.
Belle Plain was very friendly. Had a delicious piece of blueberry pie. Yum. A little bit of cold water and we were ready for the next leg.
Morengo for lunch. Cheese sandwiches for Friday. We do cheese sandwiches most Fridays, so we feel right at home.
We met a native New Mexican on the Air Force team. He forgot his New Mexico flag, so asked us to pose in our New Mexico jerseys with him. So cool. The he gave us a space force water bottle. Thank you Air Force!
Back on the bike and headed to Amana. We immediately start up a conversation with another tandem team. They had a Bike Friday tandem, which apparently was also made by the Burley folks. It was a lot of fun talking tandem riding with them.
Amana had free beer! A Millstream Cream Ale. Yummy. We added a pretzel for extra carbs and salt. We got a free wine sample too. Rhubarb wine is sweet, delicious, and right in line with my tastes.
We made a couple stops on the way to Oxford. We each had a couple freeze pops and a lemonade. Iowans are very friendly. In Oxford, I got my bottle filled with Gatorade, shared an ice cream sandwich with Theresa, then back on the bike.
We made a couple more fun stops along the way. We got some cold water from "Evan's Kids ". Next we stopped at Wilson's Orchard & Farm for lavender lemonade and a run through their sprinkler. Fun!
Finished up with a short downhill into Coralville. We saw Mariana and Ryan Larson right at the end. Amazing that you can still find folks you recognize with so many riders out on route.
Last night's Rhino meet up was canceled, so we are hoping to get together tonight. Great week with our fellow cyclists.
