Today was the first ride after the Spooktacular. The weather is a bit on the cold side. Winds are from the Northeast. I wore arms, knees, head cap and thick base layer. I stuffed a sheet of newspaper in the jersey for good measure. The legs felt good to start. I made it to the end of OTR in good average time. I was feeling a bit light headed. A sign of hunger knock. So, I fed half a Clif Bar (saving the other half for later). I stopped the GoPro and forgot to start it till I reached the summit of Lemans. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation, so I had to keep an eye on my six. The Arosa climb went quick. I had a tailwind. I made my way around the backside. The wind was turbulent, so I was riding with caution. When I reached the summit of Banducci, I pulled over to recover. I fed a Clif Bar, hydrated, checked the GoPro battery. I let traffic by and headed down the mountain. There was a headwind, so I was cruising the downhill and letting traffic by. The descent off the Banducci Wall was a bit dangerous, so I was feathering the brakes till I reached the base. From there, I headed to OTR. OTR was mostly fun and games. I pushed over Mariposa and back to home. I shut it down after reaching the top of Weston. Concentration was good. The morale felt pretty good. Ailments were minimal. My hands don’t go numb as much as it does in hot weather. Balance and form was good. Nutrition was a bit off. I had to feed a Clif Bar to keep my energy level normal. I drank most of my energy drink and water. Gear worked flawless. Other notes, no cyclists out there. There was utility construction in the Alpine Forest. I was delayed by a few minutes as a result.
