Headwaters-Lily Lake Local Road Ride 1-11-24

D'Emonda. Mostly sunny, cold - hovering around 30 with wind chill in the low 20's, West/WSW winds @ 8-12 mph. My route selection included going West on the paved Great Western which is totally covered in snow, so I chucked the planned route and just rode on local neighborhood roads around Lily Lake to Campton Hills. Solo ride starting at Headwaters.

While our area of Geneva only got a dusting of snow last night, Elburn and points North and West got up to 4" so it was quite beautiful. I did most of the roads in Sunset Views, Hazelwood, Trail Creek and Prairie Creek, plus virtually all the roads in The Windings. Tons of climbing and lots of stops so a pretty slow pace. My legs felt great after several snow days off. All in all an enjoyable but very cold ride.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
