This was the 5th day of riding our main route, and I had become much more familiar with using the Iphone GPS for navigation using the “Ride With GPS” App. I was getting better at making route changes on the fly to find better, smaller, quieter country lanes with almost no cars to contend with. The night before this 5th day, I realized that the route I had planned to follow would not be pleasant so I completely revised the route making it a bit longer but much better. The next morning my companions went along with the changes with some degreeof apprenhension. We started off that day heading south in parkland alongside a lovely lake with a couple of miles of single track. That was followed by miles of very lovely lanes through pastoral settings. The route changes all worked wonderfully. We were following roads one can’t see on most paper maps, but can see in detail on google maps (and other maps) embedded in the Ride With GPS software. I think it was at this point that my friends finally started more fully trusting the GPS and the routes I had planned. From that point forward on I electroonically shared the route each day so they could see it on their own Iphones. On the ride that day, we worked our way east and north to the bridge that took us from the Island of Lolland over to the Island of Falster at the town of Nykobing Falster. From there we rode a few short miles south and east to the beach town of Marielyst. We arrived in the early afternoon ready for some lunch on the Boardwalk area near the beach. After that we spent the afternoon walking the beach.
