Day 9 was the last day we would all ride together as we headed in northteast back to Copenhagen along the coast. It went quite quickly with favorable winds and we were mostly on a path alongside the road. Oonce we were close to Copenhagen the path veered away from the road and ran through parkland along the coast. The weather became much more threatening, started to rain, and finally we stopped and put on full rain gear only to take it off when the rain stopped a few minutes later. We passed a large power plant, crossed a high bridge and the weather got very threatening again and the wind blew very strongly from the south just as we turned north heading down a long channel directly into the city. We raced along successfully staying just ahead of the approaching rain. Once in the heart of the city the route I had mapped took us through some sketchy looking areas through construction zones but eventually it took us right onto the new winding bike bridge over the harbor called the "Snake" We soon got to our hotel in time for a late lunch. We had left about 9:00 in the morning and completed the 28 mile ride to the hotel by about 1:15PM. Later hat afternoon, we returned our rental bikes having completed our route that the six of us were doing together. The Brown's were heading home the next day while the other four of us we flying off to the Island of Bornholm for three days, renting different bikes on that Island. That evening, Sue and I met our friends Erica and Jelo and their kids for dinner.
