A refreshingly cool morning saw Alec, Jim H, Colin and myself set off out of Uxbridge through Denham and on to The Crew Room Cafe at Denham Aerodrome for elevenses. We sat outside watching the antics of helicopters doing bumps and circuits.
Leaving the aerodrome we set off to investigate Marish Lane. I can report that it is still a little rough in places but it was at least dry.
Reaching Old Slade Lane we headed towards Chalfont turning on to West Hyde Lane and Roberts Lane to Horn Hill. We then headed to Chalfont St Giles along Gorlands Lane then down Vache Lane stopping for lunch at Merlins Cave PH. Bar food was off but they had a barbecue in the garden. It was beginning to warm up as we sat in the garden eating burgers and listening to the sound of jazz wafting across the car park from the jazz club in their barn.
Replete we pedalled up Deanway past Three Households and round the back of Sear Green and on to Gerrards Cross via Longbottom Lane, Welders Lane and Goldhill Common. Once through Gerrards Cross we headed for tea at Denham Church along the Oxford Road. At Denham Colin departed for home while we retired to The Swam PH as a place to wait until it was time for tea and cake at the church hall.
We joined Caz at the church hall and were later joined by the long ride led by Dave Taylor and also by Bob and Peter who had cycled down from Harefield. Tea drunk and cake eaten we made our way back to Uxbridge through the cold course.
Uxbridge return 25 miles.
