Squeezed out a ride in the woods between storms -- cloudy and gloomy this afternoon but comfortable upper-50s temps. Trails, mmmm, well they were MOSTLY rideable. Plenty of mudholes; plenty of wet spots but also lots and lots of firm un-muddy segments too. Worst parts were after the first half mile, where hunters in the county's annual deer cull drove their 4-wheeler ATVs on the trails and left big ruts and churned up the mud. Managed to get a foot in a creek when one of the rocks deliberately placed in the creek for hike-a-bike moved. That was mile 3.3 and it wasn't cold enough to rush home. Nevertheless decided to finish on pavement at mile 9 having had enough mud and wetness. Nice change from what would have been an indoor ride on the bike that doesn't move.
