With the park now officially and legally open we did a loop. We used to ride this trail system all the time, multiple times a week, as it was basically the only place to ride. Twenty years later, lots more trails exist and our visits here have declined drastically. When we DO go back, we remember a few things: Roots, sooooo many roots, forming many many step-downs and ups; so much climbing - there is virtually no place where you just cruise in this system. There are downhills, yes, but technical and rooty and twisty. And did we mention the roots? Had visions of riding most of the White Loop, which were dashed at the top of yellow (about mile 9) after alllll that climbing. And roots. Just had nothing left for still more climbing and roots. Probably didn't help we're now into the pollen season and while the SIngulaire works, this time of year it's not 100% and besides, the cardio is February cardio... Still, it was fun and we headed back before it turned into a death march. w/Mark
