Day 31 Ride went well despite immediately (mile 4) getting road debris caught in the rear wheel after leaving the hotel. Removed it and it did no damage. 75 miles of challenging "rolling" hills. Easily equal to the 86 mile day. Ashland is a cute place with some interesting Easter decorations. Rode past the site of Stonewall Jackson's death. Noticed a real live log cabin. Perhaps Davy Crockett slept there. Mile 54 was a decision point, to bail out to Thornburg, or continue to Fredericksburg. On to Fredericksburg it was. Fredericksburg / Washington DC South KOA Holiday at mile 59 is very nice, and had water, gator-aid, etc supplies at the camp store. Could have been a spot to Camp! Stopped at 7-11 just before hotel to restock snack bars, and Cherry Pies. Fredericksburg is very interesting with history and battle fields galore. The Shokz Bluetooth headphones I've been using to provide a lady in my head for directions is somehow not turning on despite indicating full charge. Luckily I have the GPS and the phone still working. (update: REI exchanged it no problem when I got home) On to nearly Alexandria tomorrow Tuesday. Dale City (Lorton), this enables a short and more flexible arrival on Wednesday in Alexandria for us to meet up with my niece who will be working Wednesday.
