Day 25 Day 26 rain day here. see 3/6 link here on ride with gps Long ride today. Good ride in the end. Cool overcast weather. It might have been worse had the forecast 70 degrees sunny day hit us. Leaving New Bern immediately involved crossing one long high trafficy bear of a bridge. Riding went fast to the Aurora ferry terminal. We'd left early especially to be absolutely sure to make the 11:45am ferry. After that no ferries till 5pm! We more than succeeded getting there with about 2 hours to kill. There is nothing there except a nice clean functioning rest room and some picnic shelters. We promptly made hot coffee since we'd been carrying the burner and canister of gas for all this time with no excuse to use it. That killed an hour. But the ferry came on time and we crossed as expected. Riding up to the ferry is a large area of industrial mining and a huge processing plant. Phosphate mining. Largest phosphate mine/processing location in the world. Right in Aurora. (Some folks aren't pleased, see pics). Good Mexican restaurant in Plymouth. Expect to take another rain day here tomorrow Wednesday. Likely headed to Suffolk Thursday. I have a chain to clean and lube and brakes to tweak, and a nap to take.
