The weather is around 48-ish degrees. So a bit on the cold side. Winds from the North West. I wore the standard winter kit with knee warmers and a thin base layer. The legs were a hint on the heavy side. By the time I made it to the top of the first riser, I was already feeling better. I made it to the top of the descent in good average time. I cruised the downhill all the while gathering in the wonderful views. There was one train on its way up as I was descending. I made it to the base in good average time. Before making my way back, I removed my face mask and stashed in in my saddle bag. From there, it was non-stop climbing. The legs were good. The body felt good. I had my mp3 player going, but ended up turning the volume down so that I can focus on my breathing. Also, to hear traffic from behind. The landmarks went quick. I had a few things to think about, so I was occupied in the mind. Definitely helped the miles going quicker. The morale got better as the miles went on. I was calculating the minutes to the summit, and I was within a few minutes. After making it the summit, I let up and relaxed for a bit. From there, I headed back home and shut it down at the top of Weston.
Concentration was good. I had a few things to think about and the morale was mostly good. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. Some hand soreness. The right knee was hinting on soreness on occasion, but didn't escalate. It eventually went away. Nutrition was good. I drank most of my sport drink, no water. Gear worked flawless. Other notes, no cyclists today. The camp ground has yet to be prepared. There were some people at the Loop Monument as I was on my way and and back.
