There where five riders at Uxbridge for the short ride - Lawrie, Paul, Jim H, new boy Rob, and myself. We left Uxbridge along the Oxford Road to Denham Roundabout. The route was up Holybush Lane which we accessed as usual of the M40 slip road attracting a quizzical look from a policeman. At Tatling End we followed the A40 to Gerrards Cross and elevenses at Jung’s Patisserie. We had not long arrived when we were joined by Alan and Sandra.
After our break we left Gerrards Cross through quiet roads paths and roads to Bull Lane and on to Goldhill Common and Three Households. The ride continued on through Seer Green and on to Beaconsfield and our lunch stop at The Swan PH where those with packed lunches left to settle on Malthouse Square Green rejoins us for a drink later in the pubs garden.
We all left The Swan round Malthouse Square to Lakes Lane to the footbridge over the motorway and reaching the main road made our way to the Burnham Road and Ship Hill to Harehatch Lane. From Harehatch Lane we rode along the Beaconsfield Road to Parish Lane and on to Stoke Common en route to Fulmer and Denham for tea at St Mary’s Vestry. While there we were joined by Caz Bob and Peter with the long ride turning up as we were leaving. The group dispersed after tea with three of us heading across the golf course on our way to Uxbridge.
