It’s a beautiful spring day. In the 50’s. Mild winds from the North West, slightly turbulent. I wore arms, knees, head cap and a long sleeve jersey. The legs felt ok to start. My right knee was a bit sore today. Perhaps didn’t recover 100% from the weekend’s ride. I made it to the end of OTR in good average time. The Banducci Wall had traffic mitigation, so I was more concerned about my six then the climb itself. Nevertheless, I made it to Arosa safely. The Arosa climb went quick. I had a few things to think about. I counted off the speed bumps when I arrived at that segment. The morale was also good. I was near max going over the top. I pushed my way over the backside. I had fun on the descent. My GPS read 45.8 MPH max. But, I remember seeing it no more than 43. Will have to look at the metrics. From there, I headed to the summit of Banducci. I pulled over to rest a bit, hydrated, checked the GoPro battery and checked the lights. I let traffic by and then headed back down the mountain. I stopped a quarter mile into it to let the traffic by. From there, it was non-stop. Descending off the Banducci Wall was a bit cautious. The wind was somewhat turbulent. I made my way to OTR. The descent off OTR was mostly fun and games. I pushed over Mariposa, did the dig up Weston and shut it down.
Concentration was good. I was in the zone for most of the ride. There were hints of gremlins. I held it together. Balance and form was good. Ailments, my right knee was noticeably sore, but never escalated. The hands were numb while out of the saddle digging. Nutrition was good. I drank most of my sport drink. No water. Gear worked flawlessly. Other notes, no cyclists today.
