It's crazy! We didn't plan it this way but the last time I did the Mt. Tam Double, we did this ride the weekend before and purely by coincidence we've done that again.
Not sure how or why but more and more, we're doing the same ride on the same weekend that we did on a previous year.
Right from the beginning I had mixed feelings about the new bike fit. My inner thighs and the backs of my legs felt like they were being strained a little bit. But the pedaling motion felt really smooth.
It felt this way most of the ride, with my thighs feeling okay sometimes. When I went easy up the climbs it felt great! When I went hard the inner thighs and quads were straining.
I was really worried I would get cramps like I did after the initial fit when I widened my stance but my legs started to feel better towards the end of the ride.
One thing that's not great, every time I raise the saddle it means less saddle comfort and I don't know that I want to sacrifice that for the double.
Much to think about and decide before next weekend.
